From the reviews
1-6-19 Bought a 5 string Yamaha bass guitar. Love this place. Great service. 4-4-19 Finish started fading on pewter hardware. Took it in to have it looked at and was told that it would not be covered under warranty as it is normal wear. 6-4-19 Had my wife take this back to the store for me to speak with another person.
We stopped in on the afternoon of 10/4/24. I've been playing the drums for 44 years now, and I've always loved to visit local shops for music gear. I came in here to check out their sticks for sale. Much to my delight they carried the ProMark brand.
Had the opportunity to stop in and meet some of the guys at the shop. All very knowledgeable and you can tell music is the passion behind them. Picked up a nice guitar as well. Highly recommend if your needing a new instrument or used. If your in the area stop by check out the scene here at this awesome place!
The Allen's are nice people with a passion for music! Brandon, Ashley & family are always helpful. My sons took bass guitar and keyboard lessons. Bryce was my older sons instructor for lessons (bass guitar), he was great!
Selling or trading gear at Allen Music, Inc.
Allen Music, Inc. comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Allen Music, Inc.
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Allen Music, Inc.. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
