From the reviews
Got my daughter a violin here, ended up liking it so much I got one for myself lol. Super knowledgeable staff and incredibly helpful. Went in to pay to have them re-strung or adjusted many times and would have gladly paid but they never charged! Nice!
I'm a professional touring musician and play Tenor Sax. I brought my P Mauriat horn into Baum's for a playing condition repair (needed new corks felts and some adjustments) Miles took great care of me and my horn. In the matter of a few hours he dialed in my horn and it sounded great!
I have a love/hate relationship with Baum's. They sometimes have the books my daughter needs, sometimes not. They sometimes have a repair person, other times they don't or they're booked out for a long while. We've gone here for lessons as well. I prefer to buy local, but can't always get what I need.
OMG the staff was so kind and generous. Offering additional help and resources when they didn't have to. Understanding, the prices and cost were within reason. Plus they were playing the Little Mermaid on their TV as I waited... can't any better than that!
Lessons at Baum's Music
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Baum's Music. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
