Steve has built two instruments for me, a 000 guitar and a baritone uke. The uke was Steve's first and the 000 included a lot of new features that Steve did on request. Both are great instruments, the price was very reasonable, and Steve is a joy to work with.
The pick-up on my Fender electric violin suddenly stopped working last weekend. I was panicking because I had a performance coming up, and every place I called said they did not work on electric violins, but only guitars. I found Beckwith Strings online and gave them a call.
I spoke with Steve over the phone, and could tell that he knew what he was talking about, which is not always the case. I brought him my Guild 12-string that needed to have the bridge taken off and re-glued. The top had bellied up badly behind the bridge, and I was worried that it might never be really playable again.
Steve did some incredible work with a comprehensive rebuild of my old stratocaster. The job involved a neck replacement, locking tuner/nut & saddle install, full electrical harness/pickup swap, and instrument setup. The looks/sound and playability of the guitar far exceeded my expectations.
