From the reviews
Can’t say enough good things about Big Hit Guitars. The owner, Scot, is an honest and compassionate individual that does an exceptional job at finding what suites you and your musical needs. He goes above and beyond at making a fair transaction that works for everyone. This isn’t your typical guitar store.
Highly recommend Big Hit Guitars. Scot went above and beyond to get a guitar across the country late in the holiday season. Scot was a pleasure to work with, he kept me in the loop on timing and shipping throughout the transaction, and made sure the guitar was well packed.
Big Hit Guitars in Barrington NH is a wonderful new edition to Barrington as well as the surrounding communities. The owner/operator is Extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. I personally have recommended friends and family to visit this store.
I knew absolutely nothing about guitars. All I knew is I wanted one and I wanted to learn. I now own a beautiful guitar and I am learning how to play it. BigHit is the most amazing support, source of knowledge, and some of the most excellent people around. I now need more than 5 stars to rate them!
Selling or trading gear at Big Hit Guitars
Big Hit Guitars comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Big Hit Guitars
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Big Hit Guitars. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
