From the reviews
We went to Bridges & Bows Violin Shop today for changing my violin old steel Prelude strings into Dominant/Pirastro combination strings. The shop owner was very friendly and helpful. He not only helped us to change the strings but also fixed a minor problem beyond our knowledge. The total cost was minimum for us.
We needed a little bit of repair work done on a cello. Nobody local (to Leominster) did cellos. Went to Bridges & Bows. They were great. Took it in and fixed it in a day, got it back as soon as it was done drying and did a great job. Timely, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Thank you.
Staff is very good with assistancing new students..have most items you need for beginners..love their collection of Violins
Located far from civilization we dropped off a cello for repair. Must have the largest collection of violins in the Boston area.
Selling or trading gear at Bridges & Bows Violin Shop
Bridges & Bows Violin Shop comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
