From the reviews
Very fast response time. I sent a text with my photos and within 10 minutes I had a response with an estimated value on my Gibson guitar.
Joe's Vintage Guitars was terrific to deal with; they were professional, honest, and beyond fair. If you're looking to buy or sell an antique or vintage guitar, Joe makes everything as simple as possible with every aspect: shipping, receiving, and payment; it's all a breeze.
I've been following Joe's Vintage Guitars on Instagram for a long time and have always been impressed with his selection and the fact that he keeps his prices reasonable in this world of astronomical guitar prices. I recently purchased a dream guitar -- a Gibson 345 Stereo.
Called Joe at 9:30am eastern time. He is in Arizona. So, it must of still been early for him. He returned my call within 5 minutes. I sent him photos of the guitar, called me back and told me what it was worth. He made me an offer, sent me the packing slip, and off to FedEx I went.
Selling or trading gear at Buy Sell Vintage Guitars
Buy Sell Vintage Guitars comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
