“They had the perfect dulcimer for my friend who came in from Austin TX because he knew they would have something better than town.”
What players say again and again

“It is a beautiful instrument, it sounds great, it feels wonderful, and it came with some beginner supplies (extra strings, picks, noter, and a songbook).”
From the reviews
I didn't go to the store, I ordered a dulcimer from Cedar Creek's website. I still received wonderful service. They kept me updated on every aspect, even so far as to call me about availability of my selection.
To start off, this is an amazing company with the best staff around! I don't live near their store, so I had to get the dulcimer shipped to me. When it arrived, it had some damage from rough handling in the post. The people at Cedar Creek Dulcimer were extremely kind and shipped me a new one!
Bright, friendly music store with a great selection of fretted instruments. Dulcimers, dobros, ukuleles, banjos, guitars, fiddles and more. Matthew, who runs the store is friendly and knowledgeable. He restrung and adjusted my baritone ukulele and it sounds great. Thanks Matthew.
Excellent service and very informative staff! We had a great experience and the store caters to those who are not generally as musically inclined by having lots of unique and simple to play fun instruments, which my girlfriend had a great time messing around with. It also has a nice selection of ukulele and guitars.
Selling or trading gear at Cedar Creek Dulcimers Co
Cedar Creek Dulcimers Co comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Cedar Creek Dulcimers Co
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Cedar Creek Dulcimers Co. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
