Cool place, very cool owner. A great musician who loves what he is doing. The harmonicas he sells have a unique sound. The demo he gave us was a joy (see video). The store itself is charming and sells much more than just harmonicas - several guitars and special strings I am really not sure what their names are.
Great place to visit and to buy a harmonica (or to get one repaired or customized). The owner “Deak Harp” is a local personality as well as a great harmonica player.
Fun place. Step into some history here. Deak gave us a personal concert with his guitar and harp. He played with all the greats. He knew his harps and discussed how he builds custom harmonicas. Great visit.
Met Deak when I was taking a photo at his corner and got to chatting. After seeing him perform that night, we stopped into his remarkable shop the next day. He does amazing work with custom harmonicas, knows vast amounts about the blues, runs an annual festival, and takes care of cats (hello to Mr. Bubbles!).
