From the reviews
Dan reset my 1976 Martin D-18 neck and reworked bridge and saddle. Truly professional work, plays beautifully now. And a nicer luthier you will not find. Fair prices for top notch work.
What a find!!! If you need work done on your guitars… complex or a simple set up.. Daniel is the man you should go to.. He is clearly an excellent luthier and takes pride in his work! He has worked on my expensive Taylor and it plays better than the day I got it.. I’ve also had my not so expensive guitars worked on..
Daniel‘s been great every time. My first time in there was with a bass… I’d been told twice the neck couldn’t be adjusted to play well. In five minutes he already had it playing better than it ever had, then kept it for a couple of days and It came back playing great.
This was my first experience at Don’t Fret and I’m certainly glad to have discovered them! Daniel and his staff were an absolute joy to be around and made me feel comfortable to be there.
Selling or trading gear at Don't Fret Guitar Repair
Don't Fret Guitar Repair comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
