“I'm an acoustic guitarist who didn't understand how to set up the bridge on an old PRS electric out of my closet where it had been stored for decades.”

From the reviews
Very friendly/knowledgeable guitar techs and super reasonable prices, especially if you pay with cash. These guys have great attention to detail, really know their stuff, and will not nickel and dime you. When I picked up my guitar, Kaleb also walked me through tons of really useful maintenance tips.
Been going here for years, love the staff, selection, and atmosphere. Traded, bought, consigned, and sold many things, always great doing business with them. No pressure, let's you play and test whatever without hassle.
Awesome friendly people. They love what they do and are passionate about instruments. Great prices on new stuff and unique used items. Best place to go for guitar maintenance. I went to check out their tagima budget models and they play and look great. A hidden gem of value.
I have found my new favorite guitar store! The shop has a great look and feel like a classic guitar store. No "big box" feel here, but their prices are very reasonable. And the staff is knowledgeable and experienced. Felt welcomed there from the moment my son and I walked in the door!
Selling or trading gear at Fingerboard Extension
Fingerboard Extension comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Fingerboard Extension
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Fingerboard Extension. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
