From the reviews
For years I have purchased my gear and music at Flatts and Sharpe: instruments, pedals, cables, strings and picks. I bought my first pedal there years ago and a ukulele for my children which they love. If they didn't have something special in stock, they ordered it for me right away.
I have been taking banjo lessons with James Wiegel at Flatts & Sharpe Music Company since May of 2020. I am really happy with the progress I have made since I first started with James. I had never played a string instrument before and it can be quite challenging to push yourself to continue to practice and improve.
Flatts and Sharpe music school is such an incredible place! My daughter has been taking voice lessons for a few years now and has participated in their Rock Band experience every chance that has come along. Each teacher has been wonderful and our current instructor, Katie Wheeler is a total rock star!
I take private lessons with James, and he’s incredible! He’s great at keeping things interesting and fun while still challenging me to try new skills. He’s also great at sneaking in bits of music theory in practical, tangible ways- and I’m always surprised when I realize how much I’ve been learning.
Lessons at Flatts and Sharpe Music Co.
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Flatts and Sharpe Music Co.. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
