I visited Frets and Necks SA for a basic setup on my electric guitar, and I'm really impressed. Rick McLain runs the shop by himself, so it took a few weeks, but the results were worth it. Rick greeted me warmly, assessed my guitar expertly, and explained everything patiently and passionately.
Rick did really awesome work on my guitar. My 6 year old accidentally dropped my Les Paul and cracked the neck. Rick repaired it like new and then I had him setup the guitar. It sounds better than it ever has. He also taught me a bunch about my guitar that I didn't know. I'll be back again!
I would highly recommend Frets n Necks. Rick takes his time explaining the why and how of what needs to be done and did a clean job setting up my Tosin Abasi Fisherman pickups. In addition I had my frets leveled. This guitar has never sounded better. Prices are very reasonable.
Authentic, honest, and local is how I'd describe my visit here. I came in near the end of the day for a completely detached output jack on my wife's tricky guitar with a narrow f-hole, he shared his knowledge of the issue and how he would go about fixing it.
