From the reviews
This is one of those small family owned businesses that I like so much. This store opened in 1972 and has made several moves since then, all to different stores in the same building. I have known Fritz for a long time, as we grew up in the same nighborhood. He and his wife are talented musicians.
This magnificent little store has been in business for 51 years! They have a great selection of guitars, records, and accessories. I stopped by to Look at the Billboard "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" had placed. Like the the title of the show, I should have went last week, because I missed it.
Very friendly! Great selection (especially ukuleles). Definitely worth a stop in to check it out. Just purchased a guitar from here as well. The woman helped us with both purchases. She is friendly and knowledgeable.
Nice little store with plenty of acoustic guitars. Album selection will keep you busy on your hunt if you're into country and bluegrass. Not much for us bass players, but we're already far, few, and rare in the area so it seems.
Lessons at Golden Ring Music & Folklore
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Golden Ring Music & Folklore. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
