What's on the wall
“Great place for those looking to get into vinyl and the experienced collector.”
“This place has New and Used vinyl records, a really good selection of both of but mostly newer Artists.”
What players say again and again
“He's starting to collect and the staff is super helpful.”
From the reviews
Holly crap! This place is my vibe. They have an extensive collection of relevant, good music, with a good mix of new and used. The prices are very reasonable. The environment is curated exactly of a BOHO record shop should be. The staff were obviously very used to new customers.
Guestroom is a Louisville staple. The friendliest and most helpful of staff and the best selection of records in town. Great place for those looking to get into vinyl and the experienced collector. Great used sections that are updated constantly.
Gorgeous, spacious, historic firehouse transformed into a record store with incredibly knowledgeable and kind staff. Joy on Earth! Go see the fine humans at Guestroom Records.
First time visitor this week. Building is absolutely beautiful. Price's were a little more than what I would normally pay. Staff all were extremely helpful.
Selling or trading gear at Guestroom Records - Highlands
Guestroom Records - Highlands comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
