What's on the wall
“Shout out to Aiden for patiently helping me pick out the perfect guitar and shiny new nylon strings for it!”
“Walked in looking for a new electric guitar in the $600–$900 range and left with exactly what I wanted — plus a couple “while I’m here” upgrades I didn’t even know I needed.”
“My guy (shoutout to Mike/Dan/whoever helped you) spent a solid 40 minutes letting me A/B different amps and pedals without once making me feel rushed.”
“I appreciated the great customer service when calling in to purchase a vintage Guild X-700 archtop.”
“• Sweet trade-in deal on my old gear — they gave me way more than I expected and made the whole process painless.”
“Corey went above and beyond to help me along the way and ultimately got me setup with the head I hope will get me through the next twenty years!”
Brands they deal
“What stood out: • Huge selection — they had every color and finish of the PRS SE Custom 24 I was eyeing, plus about 8 other guitars I had on my short list to try.”
What players say again and again

“I was able to get a used pedal for $5 more than marketplace and try it out all I want.”
“Aiden is very knowledgeable with all the questions I had and I will without a doubt be continuing to purchase from this location.”
From the reviews
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best guitar shopping experience hands down I’ve been to a lot of music stores over the years, but Guitar Center in [your city/Appleton area or just “my local”] absolutely crushed it today.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough great things about the Guitar Center team in Appleton. Andrew, my sales associate, was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. Corey, the store manager, and the rest of the team operate at an incredibly high level and clearly take pride in their work.
I stopped in to Guitar Center a few months ago so pick up a clutch for a hi hat. I was on my way to play a show in Appleton and realized I had forgotten mine at home. I got to Guitar Center just as they were about to close their doors at 7pm as they had just changed their store hours.
I went in to have a vintage amplifier evaluated. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. They plugged in the amplifier and made sure it was functional. Then they reached out to their "vintage team" and within 30 minutes they had an estimate prepared.
Selling or trading gear at Guitar Center
Guitar Center comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Guitar Center
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Guitar Center. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
