Officially my new favorite music shop! They have a ton of really interesting used gear, above and beyond the flood of Squire Strats that most other places do. Better still, there are practice rooms set up with amps and cables. How convenient. If you still need convincing, the prices are out of this world good.
Hank's has very knowledgeable staff that can help you with the ins and outs of musical equipment. They have a great website for online sales. Courteous and honest - Hank's is a good place for every kind of player. BONUS - there is a Luthier in the back that does great set-ups and repairs.
Easily the best representative of what we all come to expect from Portland and the PNW— a perfect balance of indie, homegrown local authenticity and without a hint of pretentiousness. The knowledge of Hank and the staff is vast and all encompassing.
Been in a few times now, and recently purchased a boutique amp. Hank is such a cool helpful guy, and everyone he has working there is enthusiastic and knowledgeable! This is the best music shop in Portland, and I go there for anything I need.
