What's on the wall
“I've taken two guitars to Greg Hanson – a 10-year old Martin and 50-year old Yamaha acoustic.”
“He also demonstrated the "Midwest Nice" of his roots, while telling how he developed his knowledge and expertise.”
“I have trusted them with what would considered major surgery with my vintage Martins and have been more than very pleased, each and every time.”
“Greg Hanson advised me of the cost to repair my guitar, of the current 1 year wait for service, and of the financial benefit of a repair by the maker.”
“I reached out for an evaluation of a vintage mandolin about which I knew very little.”
Brands they deal
“From a cracked neck on a 1961 Melody Maker to fret dressings, levelings, and setups, they have worked on several of my older Gibson guitars.”

“Thanks to Greg, both genial and knowledgeable, worked his skill set on my new J45 and Taylor T5z, now they are imminently playable.”
From the reviews
These guys are awesome and great to do business with. Greg and David are true Luthiers, and are very passionate about instruments. I recommend them to my friends, and they are conveniently located in Durham. They have worked on vintage Gibson's and Martin's for me close to 15 years now. 100% recommended
I e-mailed Hanson & Crawford in January about my 1994 Taylor 710 guitar. When changing strings, I noticed some dings in the lower frets. Also I thought the guitar would benefit from a professional setup. Greg Hanson responded.
Greg and David are the go to guys for professional players in the triangle and surrounding areas. For a reason! From a cracked neck on a 1961 Melody Maker to fret dressings, levelings, and setups, they have worked on several of my older Gibson guitars. They have all come back playing like sweet dreams.
I've taken two guitars to Greg Hanson – a 10-year old Martin and 50-year old Yamaha acoustic. His evaluation of each was thorough and concise. His recommendations were what you'd want from your physician – the least invasive "cure." Each guitar was returned with improved intonation and playability for a fair price.
