Mr. Hunt is soft-spoken but knows the answers; humble yet competent. Above all, he’s not only maybe the best for repairing your amp in the metropolitan area; he’s honest too. I thought my amp was ruined. Turns out it just needed a quick cleaning, and he got it sounding great again fast.
Took my 1984 Marshall JCM800 2203 into Lowell for complete inspection and tune. Very knowledgeable and very thorough repair. This thing sounds amazing. Better than the day it was made. He was straight forward and easy to work with giving me updates as needed. I will take all my amps needs from now on.
I took my GK bass amp to Hunt for an intermittent preamp problem. Prior to moving here from Chicago, 2 other amp repair shops said they had fixed it to no avail. Lowell had the amp for a couple of weeks and determined that it would only fail in the case. It had circuit board soldering problems.
Awesome experience with Lowell of Hunt Amplification! Super quick turnaround on my amp, he made a modification i requested and even fixed something else at the same time, and only charged the very reasonable bench fee!
