Let me tell you, this place is great. The people are really nice and helpful, and they always try to give you the best experience possible. I'm a regular customer, and I recently went in looking to purchase a nicer violin to replace my old one, and the service was incredible.

I went here in the search for a new violin. I get get to the door, and I realize that this store is by appointment only. I call them in the moment and ask if we can work something out and they accomodated. I was thankful and was relieved of frustration when the gallery employees showed me some grace and understanding.

I had a $200+ bridge replacement for my original warped bridge by a shop in Durham that seriously compromised the sound of my cello. John put my old bridge on (after it settled back into shape) and got my cello back to sounding like its usual dark and resonant self, within 20 minutes and for $25. I couldn’t be happier.

I go here for all of my violin needs. John restored my violin several years ago, I'd had it since I was a kid and had no idea of it's value. He was able to tell me where it was built and when (Germany, late 1800's) and restored it to the point where it was so beautiful I was hesitant to bring it back into the grungy…
