I am a professional cellist and have been performing and teaching for over 15 years. I have always had an excellent experience working with Ken and all the staff at his violin shop! He is very fair and honest and knows how to make an instrument sound it's best. He also has a great collection of fine bows.
Don't be put off by the quirky appearance of the store! They are focused on producing the best sound from any stringed instrument. I've been going there for 8 years for my daughter's cello needs. The quality of their cellos and bows is superior.
I got my first violin from Kenneth Stein in 1998. A few years ago I decided I wanted to upgrade and figured I’d see if he was still around, which he is! I emailed to see if I could try some violins and potentially trade in mine. In the meantime, life happened, and I wasn’t able to get in until roughly two years later.
5+++ STARS, and 6 if I could! Professional, accessible, large variety of quality instruments for sale year after year, fairly priced, and repairs are EXCEPTIONAL.
