From the reviews
Doug did an absolute amazing job on my boyfriend’s Les Paul repair. The headstock was completely broken off and my boyfriend was close to throwing it all away. His Lp was from 2001 and his first ever guitar gifted to him by his father so it meant a lot to him.
The best overall guitar shop in New England. Period. I stopped by last Saturday looking for a new Les Paul Standard '50s in heritage cherry burst. Everyone in the store was super helpful and the store had a couple of them in-stock that they gladly retrieved from the back so we could check them out.
Wow - the staff (especially Bruce) was super helpful. Very impressed with the recent amp purchase. This was my very first “vintage tube amp” purchase. Marshall 100 watt 1975 Superbass non Master Volume. Bruce walked me through the basics on how to keep this amp running for another 50 years.
Purchased a beautiful Gibson Hummingbird from Bruce at MMM. It shipped same day, and was beautifully packed. The guitar wad set up out of the box and was in better condition than advertised. The transaction could not have been smoother and I can't recommend MMM enough.
Selling or trading gear at Manchester Music Mill
Manchester Music Mill comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Manchester Music Mill
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Manchester Music Mill. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
