From the reviews
We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Maddie Caldera as our 9-year-old son’s piano teacher! As a complete beginner, he was a little nervous at first, but Maddie made him feel comfortable and excited to learn from day one.
Maddie has been a great teacher for my daughter Sara who has developmental disabilities. As someone who lives with, and has worked with disabled individuals ; I understand it takes a special approach and flexibility, and sometimes stepping out of a teaching comfort zone when working with them.
My daughter Faith has been taking guitar lessons from Max for approximately 5 years now. She liked him so much she has continued taking virtual lessons with him after moving out of the state in 2022. We are so appreciative of him and he is such a great teacher!
The guy that took care of me was very helpful and knowledgeable. Told him I was looking for a beginner's acoustic guitar and he played a few so that I could hear them. He didn't try to over-sell me and there was no pressure. When it was all said and done I was very happy with my purchase and will consider them again.
Selling or trading gear at Menchey Music Service, Inc.
Menchey Music Service, Inc. comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Menchey Music Service, Inc.
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Menchey Music Service, Inc.. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
