I had previously been taking my daughter's clarinet to Milano's, when I was recommended to Mike Nye by another parent for more reasonable pricing. I have to say, I am now going to be a lifelong customer. Mike genuinely cares not only about the instrument that he is repairing, but the student as well.
My son has three trumpets for band: two cheap and one roughly $1000. The two cheap ones aren't even worth the price of repairing them, but we asked Mike if he could help us. He gave us a good deal and had super fast turn around. He lists the expected repair time but it was even faster than that.
Mike Nye, instrument repair guy, is the man! I bought a slightly used bass trombone on eBay from Japan. I received it earlier today and all was good except the slide was sticky and not functioning well. Not so good. Took it into Mike's shop and returned home.
I'm incredibly grateful for the honest and efficient service provided. They went above and beyond to help with my son's trumpet, which only needed a quick fix that took just 2 minutes. This wasn't the first time I've relied on their expertise, and once again, they exceeded my expectations.
