I learned about John Moroz from my violin teacher, who recommended him as good at what he does and honest. I needed my violin bow rehaired but was hesitant to take it just anywhere because it is a very fine antique bow and I didn't want to compromise the value.
I came to SLC originally for bow-shopping after the tip of my bow broke off. I started out at Peter Priers. They only had 2 carbon fiber bows in my price range, and the owner insisted that trying to fix my old bow would be futile and really expensive. I decided to try somewhere else to see if I could better options.
John Moroz is very knowledgeable and experienced in his field. I have utmost respect for him, his work, and his instruments. His shop is truly a gem. In his work you can see his expertise and dedication to doing the best job possible. I have taken my instrument to him before and have been very pleased.
John is very skilled with antique instruments. He does not do unnecessary work. I received a bid for work on my viola from another shop that insisted the top needed to be removed to do the repairs. They wanted to charge me $1,500 do this work. I Ggot a second opinion from John Moroz.
