From the reviews
Dropped by to check out an instrument I want to get someday. Made it clear to staff I was unable to make commitment on something I know next to nothing about. They graciously showed me everything I asked about, let me do some strumming and even gave me pointers on technique.
I took in my 1973 Martin D41 in for a small crack repair on the top and first 5 fret's replaced. I also had new strings installed and general cleanup and polish. The work done was fantastic. I have owned this Martin for 25 + years. Guitar is now nicer than ever. Plays and sounds fantastic.
A wonderful selection of instruments with the customer service to back it up. I came in to buy a ukulele and was met with a wide variety of instruments and guidance to find the right items for me. After standing in Guitar Center for 30 minutes unable to get help, I am so glad I found this local gem instead!
Haven't had any work done here, but it's a really cool store. Focused mainly on mandolins and guitars, etc, but they have a pretty wide range of instruments that you probably wouldn't find many other places. Pretty cool just for a visit to look at all the cool stuff they have.
Lessons at Music Folk
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Music Folk. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
