From the reviews
My acoustic guitar had a dead string, it wouldn't play the "D major chord" at all so I called them up, and they said they could fix it no problem. It did take them some time to get it fixed up but it was a very good job, and it was very, very cheap.
My two oldest grand sons are taking guitar lessons at music makers and are quite young. They work with them quite well , they push them for what they worth which to me means they care and are making them work for what they want. Very pleased this far. Thanks music makers and keep up the good work.
I teach violin here but have been coming here for about 20 years. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have a lot of different instruments for sale...guitars, amps, drums, violins and lots more equipment and accessories. They offer guitar, piano, drum and violin lessons and more.
Just moved to Farmington and the staff here are very welcoming. I enjoy the hassle free atmosphere and the Sat morning (@10:00 am) gathering of nice people that just want to play some music. Thank you to the staff at Music Makers for making my move here more enjoyable.
Selling or trading gear at Music Makers
Music Makers comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Music Makers
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Music Makers. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
