From the reviews
I am a regular customer. Mike and George operate one of our last remaining treasures: an independent, locally-owned music store, focusing on guitars and other string instruments. They are great to deal with. Honest, knowledgeable and personable.
The Absolute BEST music store around! I stopped by to trade in some guitars and purchase a new one. George ran numbers on my trade-ins and went over everything with me in great detail. Super honest and transparent. I ended up leaving with a Reverend Double Agent W that they had just got in the store.
I've bought new and used guitars here, as well as strings, picks, slides, etc. I've also taken lessons here and currently have a guitar in their repair shop! And the people are friendly and treat you with respect. They sell great products at reasonable prices.
This establishment is wonderful; we have been patrons for over 30 years. 👍🌟😊 George and his team are exceptionally knowledgeable and courteous. 🤝💯✅ Such high-quality service is rare nowadays. ⭐️😊👍 They also offer private lessons. ✅🤝 Support small businesses 💯🌟
Lessons at Musicians' Alley
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Musicians' Alley. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
