From the reviews
A super legit record store on Magazine Street in NOLA. They have a turntable you can use for listening which is really cool. They had a live Marvin Gaye record playing when I came in. I found some awesome singles from the 80s and got them for a great price. They have a huge selection and the staff is really helpful!
Great little record store that I'm glad to have stumbled into. Traded recommendations with the very friendly staff member whose name I failed to get, but he mentioned he pressed some of the records there by hand. Might have to go back again tomorrow before I leave!
Sure packs a punch for as small as the place is! Stupendous vinyl selection, a rad t shirt rack, and a knowledgeable, friendly staff. Plus any place that sells local musicians' stuff deserves lots of love!
Very cool place. Even if you're not that into records you'd probably enjoy a trip around. The staff member was chill and nice with my kid and helped set him up at the arcade to give us time to look around.
Lessons at NOLA Mix Records
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at NOLA Mix Records. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
