From the reviews
I had a fantastic experience with John on my 1992/93 Gibson Earl Scruggs banjo. I found it on Marketplace in rough shape, but John and I collaborated to figure out what it needed to return to playing condition. He executed every repair with great skill and even added extra care at no additional cost.
John is truly a master of his trade. I brought him my RK Elite 76, for a full setup. Which required shimming the tone ring, lower the action. New strings, new bridge, re-frosted head. Being a novice player I never realized how important a 'good' setup was. With John, I got a GREAT setup!
I had John do some fret dressing work and replace the metal tone ring in my KK-11 banjo with a wood one. (He also helped me sell the old rim!) The wood needed to be stained to match the colors of my banjo....and he nailed it! My banjo has new life and is 3 lbs lighter! It looks, sounds and plays awesome!
John is very thorough with his full setups. He takes the entire banjo apart piece by piece, re-fits it properly and gives it the best possible bridge. He turned my gt Ob3 into a complete powerhouse with deep lows and crisp up-the-neck notes and I am beyond delighted with how it sounds. Super-highly recommended! -JB
