From the reviews
This is the best music store around! Small business is the best way to go! You are often greeted by the owner himself, who is extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable in all areas. The rest of the staff are also very much so and are highly experienced in particular areas of the music industry.
Great place to get your instruments. Not only are they friendly and knowledgeable, but the value is unmatched. Chris will set your guitar or bass up for free when you buy it, they give lifetime service on the instrument. Compared to others who charge you for every little thing, this can't be undervalued.
Visited Parramore music for the first time since moving to Ocala 10 years ago. What a treat! Hey kids, this is the way music stores used to be back in "the day"! Great, friendly, super professional staff. Chris treated me like a VIP even though I was dressed like a bum!
I took an old keyboard that wouldn't power on in for them to look at on the off chance they might be able to help me. I was floored by the effort they put in to try and figure out the issue. I left the keyboard with them and they had it repaired by Raymon Brothers. It was done so quickly and affordably.
Selling or trading gear at Parramore Music
Parramore Music comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Parramore Music
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Parramore Music. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
