“They have an informative but spartan website (which is important these days), and used modern technology to render service, payment and communication (via email and text).”

From the reviews
My 1994 Srat is my one and only prized possession, and it needed a little fretwork and TLC. I didn't know who to trust with my instrument, but in my research I came across Pursell. There were many organic recommendations on various guitar forums as well as Google reviews.
I'll tell you all what I said when I picked up my Strat. I played a few notes and said, "Wow... this setup makes me want to play!" It's true. When I got home I plugged in and felt inspired to play.
Very friendly staff and excellent guitar repair! My guitar was in need of new frets, as I had worn down the originals so low that my fingertips had damaged the rosewood. I brought my guitar in to be fitted with new stainless steel frets. The finish on these new frets is flawless.
If I could give this Luthier a 10 star review, I would! Andy is a craftsman's, craftsman and top professional in his field in every way. I took my Gibson Les Paul Standard to him in April of 2023 with a broken off headstock. When I say broken off, I mean OFF. The break was ugly too.
Lessons at Pursell Lutherie
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Pursell Lutherie. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
