Wonderful, laid-back experience. Tom is a gentleman, who you can definitely trust with your baby. He's a great listener and will deliver with extremely satisfying results. My acoustic was set up directly from the manufacturer, and I kept experiencing fret buzz because the action was so out-of-whack.
Probably the friendliest, most honest and reasonable repair shop I've ever visited. First time I went, my amp had blown a fuse. Matt replaced it right in front of me and had it ready to go in 10 minutes, but it sounded off. He replaced a nearly-burned-out tube but it still wasn't sounding right.
Judging from a sign outside, I think this place is going to be going by a new name soon, but today it is "Shake Shop." I was told the tune-up I got would take about a week, and about a week and a half later my guitar was ready.
I recently got my 20 year old guitar set up for the first time since I bought it. I found ths Shake Shop in my neighborhood and spoke with Tom on the phone. He quoted me a very reasonable price, was able to take the guitar in immediately and promised a 3 day turnaround.
