From the reviews
This is the absolute best place to buy a guitar. Ron prices everything as fair and wants people to be able to play, not having to pay insane prices to do so. You can consign here, too. I have bought 4 guitars from Ron's. If I bought these at the corporate stores, it would cost me double if more.
In the era of impersonal chain stores, it's a great pleasure to visit a place like Ron's Guitars. Ron's reputation is legendary in S.E. Connecticut. His experience and expertise with guitars is unparalleled.
Ron's Guitars is a top-notch place to find great deals on guitars, amplifiers, Etc. Ron, the owner, is very personable and an honest businessman. I have always gotten great deals at Ron's Guitars. I would highly recommend Ron's Guitars to friends and family for the best prices and 100% satisfaction
Ron is a rare gem. I know very little about music and guitars. Even though I only make tiny purchase, strings, pics, etc He treats me the same as any other customer with respect and personal interest.
Selling or trading gear at Ron's Guitars
Ron's Guitars comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
