Sims Guitar Refinishing

Patrick does killer work. Is he fast? No, but if you are paying for a custom paint job you shouldn’t expect it to be. My project took longer than expected for various reasons…including him nearly losing everything in the Nashville Tornado of 2020.

During some maintenance I foolishly managed to severely damage the finish on my EVH Music Man. I love this guitar. I also have loads of sentimental attachment to it and I was crushed. I was convinced it would never be the same. I emailed Sims some photos and asked for a quote.

Pat did an incredible job on my Strat body. I came to him because I had a very specific finish in my for my Strat. I had Warmoth give it a shot, but their finish was not at all near what I wanted. It was definitely a learning process for me, as I wanted a fairly difficult finish to pull off on a flamed maple top.

After browsing through the impressive collection of finished guitars Pat has posted on his social media, I reached out to discuss having him finish a Mosrite style guitar body for me. Pat responded to my email inquiry with a phone call to talk about the guitar and guide me through the process.
