Done with both the pillars of acoustic guitar tours, Martin, in Nazareth PA 10 years ago, and now Taylor. A must visit for anyone with interest in guitars or music. And free … though somewhat hard to book. In El Cajon (about 30 mins outside San Diego).
The showroom is amazing! You can try any guitar and the staff are super friendly. If you can take the tour, only available on Fridays. The tour is terrific. Learning the manufacturing process and the attention to detail makes it clear why Taylor guitars are number one.
Several years ago I bought a mahogany GSmini; what a fantastic guitar! Despite the size, the warm tone and surprizing lows are amazing. It's my travel buddy everywhere I go! Recently, the "taylor" on the neck began rubbing off (likely due to a too-tight tuner).
Great tour! We joined the 1:00 p.m. group tour. And we had a fantastic time! Unfortunately, we forgot the name of our tour guide, now, he was really brilliant! His genuine passion for guitar, music and Taylor is a big part of the experience we’ve had there!
