From the reviews
Fantastic shop and staff. I am new to the world of playing music and bought myself a guitar to learn on. Then I noticed that a full blown music store and education center opened within walking distance from my home. From the moment I waled in I felt welcomed, not pressured at all and comfortable.
My son wanted to take electric guitar lessons, so we signed up at The Band Shoppe. Everyone at the shop has been so welcoming and helpful on our journey. The owner Lee let him borrow a guitar for his first lesson until I was able to get him his own, and Lee is always available to make product recommendations.
Excellent store, both Sykesville and Catonsville locations. Some of the best repairman I've ever dealt with (and I've been playing for 25 years), and just a pleasure to work with. My saxophones and my wife's flute came back buttery smooth to play.
I was taking bass guitar lessons with Paul Morales for a few months and had the best experience! Learning a new skill/hobby can be intimidating as an adult, but Paul, Lee and the rest of the staff are so incredibly kind, helpful and supportive.
Lessons at The Band Shoppe Sykesville
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at The Band Shoppe Sykesville. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
