From the reviews
I saw the name of this place and I had to stop. Fantastic selection of new and used guitars, basses, etc. The staff is polite and helpful. I will be coming back to purchase a guitar soon. Forget about the guitar center.... this place is far out man.
I just spoke with Russ from the Fret shop about my 6-string acoustic. He answered all my questions. I'm going to the Fret shop tomorrow. I was assured they could be of service. I look forward to the interaction. Just my customer standpoint, Russ answered all my questions.
I have been shopping here for nearly a decade now. These guys have the best service in town. Their selection is excellent, with something for everyone from beginners to pros. They usually have a nice selection of used gear as well. I had them do some work on my prized acoustic, and it came back better than ever.
Bought 2 or 3 guitars here over the years and would definitely recommend the shop. Shop owner is a solid guy that doesn't mind helping when you have questions. They also donated a guitar to a local charity just because I asked them too at Chirstmas after the big box chain store didn't "have the ability.
Lessons at The Fret Shop
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at The Fret Shop. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
