From the reviews
I have had Luke Lykken as an instructor for many years across many different instruments. He’s taught me violin, mandolin and banjo. I had different levels of experience with each of them when I started with him and he adapted his instruction seamlessly to match my abilities (or lack of abilities).
The Music Room in Palatine is a great place to learn music. The vibe there is amazing, the staff and teachers are friendly and passionate about creating a welcoming environment for students to learn music. My kids’ teacher, Steve Kaiser, is a talented musician and incredible music teacher.
Have been taking guitar lessons with Eric for almost 3 years. The Music Room has been easy to work with if I need to reschedule and Eric has been open to understanding my goals and my time abilities as a working adult to ensure I can progress in a way that works for me.
I’ve been going to The Music Room for almost 3 years now for acoustic guitar, and I have never been more grateful to have found this place! I also have had one of the most amazing teachers, Luke L. He has taught me so much about guitar and music playing, I couldn’t be more thankful for.
Lessons at The Music Room
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at The Music Room. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
