From the reviews
I've been there a couple times. First time I was there I bought a nice Les Paul. Price was reasonable and the guy who helped me was terrific. Next time I went I brought in my Fender Stratocaster for a good set-up. The guy who works on guitars does the work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I was told.
The Music Shoppe is awesome! Amazing sales staff, who are super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The store has a great selection of instruments, wayyy more than Guitar Center.
I entrusted my 1973 Schilke B1L Serial #5875 to the Music Shoppe for a repair on the tuning bell set screw. The repair was done without flaw, and without any visible excess solder. The trumpet was also cleaned and came back immaculate.
Bought a guitar here awhile back and had a great experience with Jay. Was easy to work with and able to answer all my questions. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the market for a new guitar, I believe they carry Taylor’s now as well. Also have a great selection of Fenders and PRS’s.
Lessons at The Music Shoppe Inc.
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at The Music Shoppe Inc.. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments and rentals on hand for exactly this reason.
