From the reviews
Recommended to visit this ship by local musicians of Syracuse. Visiting from Rochester / FLX. Great selection. Kind staff. New and old vinyls from all eras. Tapes, DVD, posters, all sorts of fun music and entertainment. Snagged 3 albums - the band, Neil Young and classic dead.
Amazing place to buy records, posters, movies, cassettes, anything you want really! Amazing selection of everything I could spend hours in here and the prices are criminal. Super nice staff and conveniently located near everything else in Syracuse! Can't recommend visiting enough
Grabbed two albums - the staff were very nice and helpful in looking for anything I had an issue locating and the store itself is well kept and with items well labeled and with the grading of an album as seen in my photo
Superb experience. It's what you might expect from a store like this -- casual vibes, a bit of a "find your own way" (but the staff were pleasant), and an incredible selection to work through. Worth the visit if you enjoy physical media of any kind OR just love an eccentric shopping experience.
Selling or trading gear at The Sound Garden-Syracuse
The Sound Garden-Syracuse comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
