From the reviews
I took my thirty-year-old Takamine to Daryl to have him tune it up and try and get the intonation set closer. The guitar has always had a beautiful unique sound, but there was always something that would hinder the full quality as you went up the neck.
I rarely write reviews, but I want to express my admiration for Daryl Rubin and The String Workshop. His work is truly remarkable, and I wish I could find the right words to convey my appreciation for everything he does. Daryl is a master of his craft, possessing an unparalleled level of knowledge and expertise.
My name is Chase, I’ve been bringing my guitars to Daryl for over 2 years and each time he does fantastic work. He is an absolute wealth of knowledge and can explain the pros and cons of any service for any guitar.
I brought in an early 90’s Fender I had bought used more than 20 years ago. It has been hanging on the wall for about 10 years and needed some serious restoration. The previous owner had installed a Floyd Rose and did not install it correctly.
Lessons at The String Workshop
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at The String Workshop. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
