The Violin Shop of Santa Fe is a great place to purchase or rent violins, violas, cellos, upright basses, and bows for each. I rented an upright bass, bow, rosin, and bag for 6 months before deciding to purchase the bass I was renting.
Our son and grandson spoke very highly of the professionalism and courtesy displayed by the staff. They said selection was great! And....they appreciated the assistance from the staff which helped them decide on an appropriate violin upgrade for the grandson! They spent 3 hrs and were never rushed!
Kevin installed geared (planetary) pegs in my cello, which it needed badly due to dry conditions in Taos making my instrument really difficult to keep in tune. He expertly installed them, and noticed while the cello was on the bench, that my fretboard needed some attention, which he also took care of.
I'm a professional musician and needed a beginner violin someone's 53rd birthday. Helped me find the perfect choice for someone's first instrument and set it up in time for the party. Amazing quality for the price! I've seen fellow fiddlers pay twice as much for half the tone.
