What's on the wall
“Fair prices and owner is a collector, so you know he cares about what he sells.”
“They used both a new LP mailer as well as new interior cardboard (thankfully as the exterior cardboard suffered some bumps while in transit).”
From the reviews
No trip to St Augustine is complete without a trip to Tonevendor. Truly one of the great indie record shops in Florida. Maybe the best jazz section in the Southeast, plus an amazingly curated soul section…and don’t sleep on the indie/alternative and 80’s new wave sections.
Great info record store with wide selection of jazz, Latin, punk, post punk, new wave. Etc Owners and staff are super warm and centrally located in the heart of old historic St. Augustine. Drop in if out of town. They may have that favorite old record you haven't found at home!
By far the best record store I've ever been in. Knowledgeable staff with great music taste, well organized store, almost every genre you could ask for, and I found what I was looking for almost instantly. 100/10 shop would absolutely recommend
Excellent vinyl selection and helpful staff for questions with record players. I could spend hours looking through their selection! Luckily their inventory is also on their website. They even have brand new releases.
Selling or trading gear at Tonevendor
Tonevendor comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
