I went into this shop a few years ago to buy a violin for my daughter. It just so happens that one of the gentlemen who works there, Paul Roberts, also is a violin instructor. Mr. Roberts began teaching my daughter and step daughter, both 9 at the time, and they really enjoyed it! Mr.
If you want top quality in Oklahoma, these are the people to go to. Just over a year ago, about 8 months after I started learning violin, I went to them and bought an English violin made in the 1690's which they had completely restored.
I came in to buy new strings, a shoulder rest, bow, and rosin. Ms. Johnston helped me and made the entire process so much easier than I thought it would be! She gave me great insight and advice of which brands were better and the differences between them.
I've bought every violin I've owned since I was ten years old from Tulsa Strings. They have always been extremely helpful and insightful. They also have incredible prices for incredible instruments that would cost you twice as much at other stores. My German-made violin crafted in 1840 was only $1,200.
