Well, I read these other reviews and was very skeptical about going in. I'm in my 20's and seem to have problems with 'older' persons wanting to prejudge me, so, I went in assuming I would have problems with the older lady in here. Let me tell you, I was extremely pleasantly surprised.
My family has purchased many instruments, mostly guitars and guitar accessories, from Valley Music across several decades. Valley Music's goal is there to sell you high quality instruments regardless of the brand. They introduced us to Blueridge acoustic guitars over 20 years ago.
If you want a big box store experience this is not the place for you. If you want a good old home town store ran by knowledgeable owners this is the place. If you want lessons and long time professional experienced musicians that have a lot of experience with teaching, this is a great place.
I'm a super beginner and needed a couple of things. The guy working was helpful and kind. I went back with a broken string a few months later and the same guy was there. I bought the strings and he kindly put them on as I waited. If you want to shop local, this is as local as you're gonna get.
