From the reviews
I went in the other day and expected to buy two high strings for banjo and guitar. I can be a little heavy handed. Anyway, Carl was so helpful. He strung both instruments I brought with me and scolded me little for not winding them correctly. When I left I had two functioning instruments and smile on my face.
Was on vacation and broke a string, stopped in for a replacement. Owner is a really nice and knowledgeable gentleman, I really enjoyed having a chat with him. He stocks a generous assortment of strings and sells single strings too. He also does repairs of all sorts, really seems to know his stuff. Thank you!
A truely great music shop. In house repairs by a certified craftsman and SUPER helpful staff. The owners are great people. Knowledgeable and always happy and willing to help with anything they can. This place has won my heart and business for the foreseeable future.
I bought an old banjo from Wilson's Music Center over four years ago. I took it in recently for a little repair. Wil is a great luthier and Carl is a wealth of knowledge about music and a great guy to chat with. They have a lot of stuff packed into their store and I enjoy just stopping in to see whats new.
Selling or trading gear at Wilson's Music Center, LLC
Wilson's Music Center, LLC comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
Lessons at Wilson's Music Center, LLC
Reviews and the store's own info mention lessons at Wilson's Music Center, LLC. If you're signing up a beginner (or restarting yourself), a quick call ahead answers the three things that matter: which instruments they teach, whether the schedule has openings at the time you actually need, and what a first lesson costs. There's no wrong first guitar — a good teacher will happily work with whatever you walk in with, and a shop that teaches usually keeps affordable starter instruments on hand for exactly this reason.
