Allegro Strings Violin Shop

I knew of Dorothy Smith several years before I had the opportunity to meet her in person. Myself a violin & viola teacher, a student came to me in Seattle with a small size viola from Dorothy's shop that had such a wonderful resonant sound.

Holy wow! I used to play cello professionally and have been to many shops to have my cello worked on but none have ever been so thorough and produced such beautiful results. Dorothy took great care with my instrument and was able to get a bow re-hair and new strings put on my instrument within a week.

I'm an adult student of the violin and was in search of a new bow to replace the basic one my violin came with. Happening upon this idyllic shop, I found the perfect place. The luthier spent a lot of time with me, educating me about different bow styles and constructions.

I had the opportunity of working with Dorothy she did an amazing job tuning up and giving me instructions on how to work with my daughter's violin to ensure she's using a properly before her lessons very thankful for all their help and amazing place to go a lot of knowledge.
