From the reviews
UPDATE: Hadn’t been here in a while, so stopped in recently for some browsing therapy. Still the best record store in Toledo with an authentic vibe. Check it out! I always find so many vinyl gems here. Also, the prices are fair and reasonable, and the staff is so kind and helpful.
If you need a guitar repaired, this is the place. Have had them work on 2 vintage guitars of mine and they did a fantastic job. They took great care with my guitars. Bought a small vintage Harmony at a second hand shop. Brought it in for them to check over before giving to our granddaughter.
I was in my happy place in the store. I loved the turntables and the service. The two guys there were extremely professional and made me feel welcome. Additionally, I saw the coolest thing while there. I saw this little girl feeling comfortable and checking out this guitar. It stopped me in my tracks, it was so cool.
wasn't sure what to expect, as this was the first record store I've ever been to. i was NOT disappointed. I got a few awesome finds, they had SO MUCH stock and different things to choose from! vinyls, CDs, video games, magazines, posters, etc. the staff was really awesome too!
Selling or trading gear at Allied Record Exchange
Allied Record Exchange comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
