Brought in my Gretsch for some pretty simple work. The screw that held the strap button became stripped and I couldn’t use it with a strap anymore. Jeff was awesome, he fixed it and said because the repair was such a simple one, he wasn’t going to charge me anything.
I just brought in my new guitar today to get it set up. Jeff checked the neck, all the frets, and plugged it in to the amp to test as well. He determined that there was just a very slight bend in the neck but it was very playable.
This place is a hidden gem. The location doesn't have much of a sign other than a large window where you can see dozens of amps, guitars and keyboards. Paul, the man behind the counter, is a really nice guy with scores of years of experience as a musician and technician. He setup my neglected (for 20 years!
My SWR Workingman's 12 had not been working for about 15 years and I had always wanted to get it repaired and I finally got to it. Amp & Guitar did a fast and impressive job of getting it working and it sounds as good as ever!

Amp & Guitar Wellness Center comes up for buying and trading used gear — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the trip go better. First, bring the whole package: the case or gig bag, the original tremolo arm or bridge parts, the paperwork if you have it — a complete rig is worth real money more than a bare instrument, and it saves the back-and-forth of "can you bring the case in?" Second, know that trade credit almost always beats the cash offer, usually by a healthy margin — if you're upgrading anyway, price your old gear as a trade against the new one before you take cash. Either way, expect the offer to be below what the gear sells for on the wall; the gap is the store's margin for setup, warranty, and sitting on it until the right buyer walks in.
