I waited over a year, it seems, to drive to Corrales to meet Andy. Oh why did I wait so long. Andy is a delightful, very knowledgeable person. He has an inventory that could be the best in the southwest. If you need a setup or repair, he did mine on the spot.
If you want the opportunity to truly find the right uke for you, go see Andy! He took the time to show me all different ukes at many price points, focusing on what I thought sounded best rather than what I thought I’d wanted when I walked in.
I stopped in, looking for a possible repair to an antique and also for a new uke. Andy was so careful with the antique and invested in my choosing the right uke! I had a wonderful time in the store, testing quite a few instruments and learning about construction, care and sound.
Andy's Ukes is a wonderful place. His selection of instruments is outstanding. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and has tremendous skill for working on and setting up ukuleles.
